Will you speak up for Houston ISD schoolchildren? 

On Thursday, 3/19/2026, come to the HISD Board of Managers meeting at 5:00 pm at HISD, at 4400 W 18th St. Bring family and friends. Kids speak first and adults speak on a first-come first-served basis. Zoom speakers are after in-person speakers. 

To speak at the Thursday Board meeting, register on the HISD website to speak anytime from Sunday (3/15) at 5 pm to Wednesday (3/18) at noon the week of the board meeting.

Step-by-Step

If this is your FIRST time

1. Click the registration link above. Then find the 3/19 5:00 pm and click on e-comment on the right.
2. Create an account (you only do this once.) You should get an email from [email protected] where you have to confirm your account.
3. Log in → click “View Agenda” → scroll to agenda items  which are on page 2. Scroll to the bottom to get to page 2.

No confirmation email?

• Check spam for [email protected]
• Still nothing? Call Board Services: 713-556-6121 or email [email protected] before Wednesday noon.

If you already have an account

1. Click the registration link above.
2. Click “e-comment” for the 5:00 p.m. meeting (far right)
3. Choose Agenda item: Choose #9-12 to talk about the 1882 charter contracts (HSPVA, Challenge, HAIS, Energy in that order), agenda item 1 about endless test prep and the curriculum and agenda item 20 (minutes from last meeting) to talk about anything else like closures.
4. You may sign up for multiple agenda items, but you will only get one minute total to speak
5. Click “Register to Speak” and “I Agree”

How Speaker Order Works

• Students, parents, and elected officials speak first at 5:00 pm ONLY if they fill out the priority Zoom form included in the confirmation email you get after registering to speak.
  • Look for the line: “If you wish to be prioritized to speak early…”
  • The form must be submitted by 2:00 p.m. the day before the meeting
  • Save the Zoom link shown after submitting because it will not be emailed to you
• Everyone else speaks later, typically between 6:30–8:00 p.m.
• In-person speakers go before Zoom speakers
• Speaker order is based on lobby sign-in.

Time Limits for Speakers

• 30 or more speakers: 1 minute per speaker (about 150 words)
• Fewer than 30 speakers: 2 minutes per speaker (about 300 words)

El jueves 19 de marzo de 2026, acompáñanos en la reunión de la Junta de Administradores de HISD a las 5:00 p. m. en HISD, ubicada en 4400 W 18th St. Trae a tu familia y amistades.

Si ya tienes una cuenta
