The governor is using children, parents, and religion as pawns to promote an agenda of hate. And he is coming to town to do this.

Governor Abbott is holding his "empower parents" rally at the R.O.C.K. at 4101 Broadway near Hobby Airport on Tuesday. It is being hosted by a who's who of far-right lobbyists.  

If Abbott really wanted to empower parents, 

• he would fully fund our public schools.
• he would expand medicaid and other supports for Texans who need us the most. We are 45th in the nation in child welfare.
• he would pass sensible gun safety laws to protect our children and families. Instead, he has forgotten Uvalde and responded callously to the Cleveland mass shooting by calling the victims “illegal” as if their deaths matter less. 

Wherever the governor goes, we must speak out. From voter suppression to the hostile state takeover to dismantling public ed, to ignoring Uvalde, to discriminatory bills, to trying to overturn elections, we must stand up- together- and fight for our future.
