Is the failure of so many HVAC systems this year—even in relatively new high schools completed in 2019—a result of Miles' mismanagement? The departure of 10,000 employees since the state takeover has eroded institutional knowledge, adding to the problem. Miles also cut the number of custodians at most schools in half, leaving just two custodians at a high school with close to 1000 students.

Is Miles intentionally neglecting HVAC maintenance and repairs to push his controversial bond proposal?

Why does the Greater Houston Partnership continue to back the bond? The Greater Houston Partnership should reconsider their support for the bond. They need to demand Miles' replacement and the return of local control before endorsing it.

Reckless spending, plummeting enrollment- Our kids deserve better. Our city deserves better.

A year ago, Superintendent Miles said it was acceptable for enrollment to drop. But families affected by the NES experiment disagree. Read more in "About 9,000 Students Have Left HISD After a Tumultuous First Year Under State Control."

This NES experiment appears crafted to deepen systemic inequities—communities in the poorest neighborhoods are suffering the most from Miles' disastrous policies. It’s outrageous to reward Mike Miles' failures by pushing for more school closures, which only accelerates the destruction of public schools in areas already devastated by food deserts, unsafe drinking water, endless stopped trains, and a lack of services. This isn’t just a policy failure; it’s a direct assault on vulnerable neighborhoods and our future.

Miles had the chance to invest in our communities and support our kids, but instead, he chose to wreak havoc on their lives and education.
