The pro bond PAC is drowning in cash! Foshee dropped $225K, the Kinders and Bobby Tudor each tossed in $100K. Centerpoint CEO Jason Wells wrote a PAC check for $2500. No wonder we’re flooded with mailers—sometimes three in one day!

Check out the pro-bond campaign finance report, covering just the last month's donations. Dive in here!

But let’s be real: instead of burning cash on a bad bond, this money should be supporting our kids and teachers. That would have been a win for our future!

Missed the parent op-ed Sunday? Read it here: Why I'm Voting Against the HISD Bond.

Can you volunteer at the polls to talk to voters about why the bond is bad for kids?

At the polls, an HISD parent shares this easy intro while passing out literature:

“Hi, are you heading to vote? Have you heard about the $4.4 billion HISD bond on the ballot?”

A common response is, “Yes, I’m voting no.” Many who know about the bond are already against it. I thank them, wish them a good vote, and let them know the HISD bond appears right after the flood bond (I say yes on that) at the end of the ballot.

For those who say, “No, I don’t know about the bond,” I offer a poll card and explain:

“There are three bonds on the ballot: a flood bond first, then two HISD bonds, Propositions A & B. As a public school parent, I’m asking voters to vote against these HISD school bonds. People across Houston—Democrats, Republicans, parents, teachers—are against them. With an Abbott-appointed superintendent, HISD spending is out of control, and for billions, we’d only get about 30 new schools. This bond is a bad deal for Houston, so please vote against it.”

A new poll greeter shared: “Talking to voters makes a real impact. I’ve helped about 200 people decide to vote 'no' on the bond through quick chats. It feels great to make a difference!”

Let’s make sure our voices are heard—sign up to volunteer now!
