Why force a broken test on our kids? Let’s support real learning instead of endless test prep. STAAR is used against teachers, students, and schools. Ratings manipulation has hit a new low under the takeover. Miles rigged STAAR testing by pushing low-income students out of college-prep into remedial classes.

- April 7th: Speak at the State Board of Education. They’re rewriting social studies right now, erasing world cultures.
- April 8th, 18 & 19: Know Your Rights STAAR Opt Out Training
- April 9th: Speak at the HISD Board Meeting. Hopefully, he is gone in three months. Here are the remaining School Board meetings this year.
- April 11th, Art Car Parade. Join HFT and walk with the updated art car to stand up for public education.
- SUNDAY, April 12th: CVPE Planning Meeting, 3-4:30 pm at First Unitarian, 5200 Fannin.
- SATURDAY, June 27th: CVPE Summer Forum, 8:30-3:30pm, Domingo Morel, author of Takeover, is our keynote speaker. To sponsor the forum at various levels, email [email protected].
Finally, email Mike Miles and your electeds and demand parents have until May to submit school choice applications. One week was not enough. Most districts give families a year or more after announcing closures, not months like this board. Tell them to delay the closures a year and to extend the school choice deadline.
