Earlier this week, parents were stopped in the lobby while trying to deliver 2,000 letters to the Greater Houston Partnership Ninth Floor downtown offices urging them to oppose the bond. Read more here and here.
"I've always supported public ed bonds, but I can't support this one, said HISD parent Heather Taylor. It’s reckless, leaves too many schools behind, and burdens our kids with debt. Our children deserve a bond that addresses real issues, not one that wastes billions." |
This is the most poorly designed bond ever!
Until we have a superintendent who is fiscally accountable to an elected school board of trustees, no one is responsible to taxpayers for poor planning and mismanagement of funds. This is taxation without representation. |
Join us for blockwalking this Saturday at 10 am in Eastwood (5106 Clay) or Sunday at 4 pm in Westbury (5523 McKnight)! SAVE THUR at 5 pm to speak at the board meeting for our kids! You’ll speak in the order of arrival, so as long as you arrive by around 6 PM, you can share your voice. |
