Yesterday, at the CVPE meeting, 70 people heard from State Reps Christina Morales and Penny Morales-Shaw and then met in breakouts to build people power. One of the breakout groups learned how to crochet. To get involved in yarn resistance, join CVPE's Houston Stitching Together.

CVPE will hold a short SD 15 runoff endorsement meeting on Monday at 6 pm on Zoom. 

To be eligible to vote, you must be current with your dues and have attended at least one CVPE event in the last year. More details are here. Each membership year begins on August 1st. Pay dues here. 

Rep Jarvis Johnson and Molly Cook will share brief remarks; the screening committee will provide reflections before the endorsement vote.

  • “Phenomenal news out of Katy ISD, where Victor Perez and his cabal of book banners have had a lock on district elections. That lock is broken, as incumbents Rebecca Fox & Dawn Champagne have kept their seats.”
  • “A sour note in tonight’s sweet results so far is Fort Bend ISD. Someday we’ll learn the world’s most obvious lesson: when good candidates split their votes, bad candidates waltz into office.”
