2. WRITE A LETTER, SPEAK TO MEDIA & AT HISD BOARD MEETINGS

Speak to the media about what is happening at your school. (Escribir una letra a "The Editor" o hablar con la prensa. Speak at HISD Board meetings about the harm done to students, teachers and community. Here is how to register to speak. Board meetings are usually the second Thur each month at 5 pm.

3. HOST A HOUSE MEETING or SCHOOL PROTEST

4. BECOME AN HISD TAKEOVER EXPERT

6. Opt out of STAAR, MOY and EOY assessments.

7. Fill out this takeover reporting tool to document violations of the law or your concerns.

It is an easy form to fill out! Some testimony is being used to file complaints with the Department of Ed Office of Civil Rights and with the Texas Education Agency. 8. We will be lobbying for public education during the Legislative Session.

Make sure you are on our email list for real time updates. We will be visiting our state legislators regarding our support for increasing the basic allotment (funding), opposing vouchers, repealing the takeover statutes from HB 1842, HB 1882 and SB 1365, reducing class size, ending the overreliance on high stakes testing accountability at the expense of schoolchildren,
